This post follows part 1: https://veganantinatalist.medium.com/the-faux-status-symbols-of-success-fc18c395c2e

It is unfortunate that we share the world with selfish humans who rear pedigree pets as a status symbol. I did not mention pets in the first part because animals are not objects. They are living sentient beings with emotions and desires like all of us.

Most of these people eventually abandon pedigree pets as the attention they get for the pet is soon outweighed by the reality of caring for it fur-ever.

Inbred pedigree dogs have damaged genes and their breeders have gone beyond cruelty to cultivate them in usually unsuitable conditions.

Every day, shelters and pet rescue NGOs are struggling with the increasing pet rate of abandonment. Most of these animals are left to die a slow, painful andlonely death unless they are lucky enough to be rescued.

My heart goes out to the poor animals and this adds to why I think this world is an unsuitable place not just for humans but for all sentient beings who have to eventually face pain, cruelty and suffering.

All cities should clamp down on breeders and encourage pure rescue and forever homes. It’s the only way to stop superficial people from destroying the lives of innocent animals.

Pets are our precious babies, not a material quest!
